We're really hyped about next month's "2012" -- a doomsday thriller that comes to AMC Theaters on November 13 -- and we're not alone. The LA Times has a great piece today examining the pre-release buzz surrounding the film.
The Roland Emmerich directed film has audiences really excited. The LA Times reports that moviegoer attention is running higher than "A Christmas Carol" and is even besting "The Twilight Saga: New Moon."
Sony is implementing viral/alternate reality marketing techniques to spread the word about the film, using cryptic advertisements and tie-in websites like the Institute for Human Continuity, which is similar to the campaigns used in "District 9" and "Paranormal Activity."
Whether the final results will be world-endingly good or not, we'll have to wait and see.
What do you think about viral marketing campaigns? Are you excited about "2012"?
