 In  Action/Adventure, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Directors

What might possibly be the most anticipated film of the decade, "The Avengers" has finally landed their director.  None other than Joss Whedon.

The man behind such TV shows as "Firefly", "Angel" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and the highly underrated movie "Serenity" will be the man to helm the hero team film which reportedly will comprise of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk and others.

The Marvel films have been setting up "The Avengers" movie ever since Samuel L. Jackson showed up at the end of the first Iron Man film to tell Tony Stark that he's putting together something called "The Avenger Initiative".  Fans went crazy when he said that in the theater I saw it in.

So what do you think about Joss Whedon directing The Avengers?

I think this film has the potential for the biggest opening weekend ever. Serenity is a great film and I hope the studio gives him total control of where to go with this possible massive franchise.

I'm with you, this movie has huge potential. Especially with the build-up from the other films. I'm confident Joss Whedon can do a good job with it.
