'Bourne' Prequel in the Works?

What do you do when the director and star of a hit franchise aren't really in the mood to do another follow-up? If you're Universal and that franchise is the "Bourne" series, you might just decide to do a reboot, by way of a prequel. Back in December, the director of the second and third "Bourne" films, Paul Greengrass, announced that he wouldn't be returning for a fourth installment. In turn, actor Matt Damon said that he wouldn't return to the series without Greengrass.
That said, Damon hasn't ruled out the possibilities of ever revisiting Jason Bourne. He tells Empire:
"There'll probably be a prequel of some kind with another actor and another director before we do another one. Just because I think we're probably another five years away from doing it – we've got to get a script. If you have any ideas, call Universal. They'd love for you to get in touch!"
This is pretty interesting, if a reboot were to take place in the form of a prequel, Universal could both explain earlier parts of the "Bourne" story -- which means keeping the franchise alive and fresh in fans minds -- and still return to series' roots by having Damon come back in a future installment.
Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon will be reuniting in "Green Zone" which comes to AMC Theatres this March. What do you think of the idea of a Bourne-prequel? Who should play Baby Bourne? (Also, to channel Screen Junkies, how do we keep both Shia LeBeouf and Channing Tatum away?)
