'Dark Knight' Director Christopher Nolan Getting Involved With 'Superman' Franchise

It's hard to believe it in today's world, but not so long ago the "Batman" name was a complete joke in the movie world. The quality of the franchise was in steady and harsh decline until the ultimate embarrassment of "Batman & Robin".
But that is a distant memory. Since director Christopher Nolan came in and saved Batman with "Batman Begins" and then followed that up with one of the highest grossing and beloved films of all time "The Dark Knight". Now the Batman name is envied and people buzz about any news that has to do with the next one.
It looks like Warner Bros. wants to rub some of that magic off on the SUperman name too.
It has been announced that Christopher Nolan will take on a "mentor" role with a brand new rebooted Superman project (although, no one is ruling out that both director Bryan Singer and actor Brandon Routh could return).
I'm not really clear what "mentor" means in this context, but it's clear Nolan won't be directing the film.
What this could mean though is that Warner Bros. could now be trying to follow the Marvel blue print of creating a singular continuity between its franchises. In the Marvel films ("Hulk", "Iron Man", "Captain America" etc.) all the characters exist in the same world and intersect. Could it be that Warner is going to have Superman and Batman cross paths at last? We'll have to wait to see.
