'New Moon' Expected to Win Thanksgiving Box Office Race

 In  Box Office, Industry

Thanksgiving weekend isn't just a busy time for holiday shoppers, it's also a busy time for movie watchers. As families get together and enjoy time together and perhaps a few days off, it' makes sense that more and more people like to go to the movies.

After doing such explosive business this past weekend, box office analysts expect to see "New Moon" continue to draw the crowds over the holiday.

Other films that will be vying for audiences attention? Well three films opened today, "Ninja Assassin," "Old Dogs," and "The Road." The family film "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" is also now in wide-release.

Families are the target for "Mr. Fox" and the comedy "Old Dogs" while action fans and young men should be drawn to the R-rated "Ninja Assassins." Award-contender "The Road" is in limited release and its gritty, violent nature of the film could keep audiences away.

The Hollywood Reporter expects "The Blind Side" will continue to do well and pick up audiences that might skip out on "New Moon."

What movies do you plan on seeing this weekend?

Well I'm sure going to go see New Moon again, maybe 2012 before they pull it out.

I think I will go see Ninja Assassin, and maybe The Road, if there is time this weekend. There are so many films I want to see right now, I might just spend the weekend at the movies!

Hey Chasychase make sure you write your reviews after you watch those movies :)
