History
AMC Mainstreet originally opened in October 1921 as a vaudeville and movie house. Having closed in the mid 1980s, it had its grand opening on May 1, 2009, and now features an all-digital projection, six-screen movie theatre and The Marquee Bar & Grill. A true historical gem in downtown Kansas City, Mo., below are pictures from the theatre's early days, its status during the renovation beginning in 2006, and a picture of the theatre as it looks today.
