“The Avengers” continues its record breaking streak by becoming the fastest film in history to reach $400 million in its domestic theatrical release. The film hit the $400 million mark in just 14 days beating “The Dark Knight” which previously held the record at 18.

Joss Whedon’s epic ensemble has already usurped “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2” as the record holder for the top grossing opening weekend. It is Disney’s highest grossing film to date and currently holds the #6 position in the highest-grossing films of all time with $1.070 billion and climbing.
