“The Three Stooges” directors The Farrelly Brothers have their project lined up (after the sequel to “Dumb and Dumber” supposedly begins shooting this year) and it's a different kind of Christmas tale.

“Dear Satan” was purchased by Fox as a project for the Farrellys to direct. The story, according to Variety, is about “7-year-old girl who accidentally misspells "Santa" and instead invites Satan to bring her a toy for Christmas.”

Writer Chris Ewan got the idea from a babysitting gig he had, when one of the kids wrote to Santa but misspelled his name. “There was this cute little card, covered in candy canes and glitter. I fell in love with the idea of this note mistakenly being delivered to the Prince of Darkness and the fiery wackiness that would ensue.”

No word on a start date since this is in the early stages of development.
