Yesterday we brought you the news that Aaron Eckhart had joined the cast of the White House action thriller "Olympus Has Fallen" as the U.S. President. Today it has been reported that Oscar-nominated actress Angela Bassett has also joined the cast as the head of the Secret Service.

That would make Bassett Gerard Butler's former boss in the film. The actor stars as a former Secret Service agent who must protect the White House when it comes under terrorist attack.

The Nu Image/Millennium Films project is scheduled to begin shooting this summer as it races to beat Sony's similar "White House Down."
