Keira Knightly and director Joe Wright have successfully collaborated on two period adaptations, “Atonement” and “Pride and Prejudice” and have now re-teamed to take on Leo Tolstoy's classic tale of love and loss “Anna Karenina.”

Synopsis:
The story unfolds in its original late-19th-century Russia high-society setting and powerfully explores the capacity for love that surges through the human heart, from the passion between adulterers to the bond between a mother and her children. As Anna (Knightley) questions her happiness, change comes to her family, friends, and community.
Joe Wright directs a cast that includes Keira Knightley, Jude Law, Aaron Johnson, Kelly Macdonald, Matthew Macfadyen, Domhnall Gleeson, Alicia Vikander, Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Ruth Wilson from a screenplay adapted by playwright Tom Stoppard.
“Anna Karenina” opens in a limited release on November 9th.
