Universal Pictures has tapped commercial director Adam Berg to helm the adaptation of David Cronenberg's 1983 science-fiction classic “Videodrome”.
The original is described as “a commentary on the growing saturation of new media, starring James Woods as the head of Civic TV Channel 83 who makes his station relevant by programming "Videodrome," a series that depicts torture and murder, transfixing viewers.”
The remake is meant to focus more on the implications of nanotechnology.
Ehren Kruger (“Transformers”) will pen the script and produce with partner Daniel Bobker.
