The “Despicable Me” spinoff featuring the strange and lovable minions has been given a release date. We can look for the, as yet untitled, film from directors Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda on December 19th, 2014.

Meanwhile, we can catch up with the minions in “Despicable Me 2” on July 3rd, 2013.

The first film in the franchise made a remarkable $543.1 million in worldwide box office sales for Universal and Illumination when it was released in 2010.
