It appears as though the movie rights for “Daredevil” have left Twentieth Century Fox’s hands and reverted back to Disney/Marvel.
Neither studio has released an official statement, but Fox’s request for an extension on the October 10th production deadline was denied.
Joe Carnahan, the director attached to the project, tweeted about its imminent demise yesterday, saying:
"idea for a certain retro, red-suited, Serpico-styled superhero went up in smoke today kids."
He followed up his initial statement by releasing both an NC-17 and PG-13 version of the sizzle reel he used in his “Daredevil” pitch to Fox, saying:
"DD pitch was tremendous and everyone flipped for it. The clock ticked down at Fox, that's why it went t*ts up."
