This weekend director Tim Burton’s tale of a boy and his till-death-do-they-part-and-beyond love for his dog, “Frankenweenie”, opens in AMC Theatres everywhere – make sure to purchase your tickets HERE.
AMC had the opportunity to sit down with “Frankenweenie” voice actor Winona Ryder whose collaborations with Tim Burton on “Beetlejuice” and “Edward Scissorhands” have inspired generations of fans. During our conversation we touched on what it was like for her to reunite with Burton after more than a decade and the moral of this latest Burtonesque fairytale.
Take a look at our interview below.
From creative genius Tim Burton ("Alice in Wonderland," "The Nightmare Before Christmas") comes "Frankenweenie," a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor's fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new "leash on life" can be monstrous.
A stop-motion animated film, "Frankenweenie" will be filmed in black and white and rendered in 3D, which will elevate the classic style to a whole new experience.
Tim Burton directs a voice cast that includes Winona Ryder, Martin Short, Catherine O'Hara, Martin Landau, Charlie Tahan, Atticus Shaffer, Robert Capron and Conchata Ferrell.
