It's being reported that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has signed on to star as "Hercules" in a cinematic adaptation of the graphic novel "Hercules: The Thracian Wars".

"Rush Hour" and "X-Men 3" director Brett Ratner is set to helm the film which is scheduled to go into production in early 2013.

A revisionist take on the classic mythology, the film will take place in a world where the supernatural and gods do not exist.

The comic book series by Steve Moore with art by Cris Bolsin is described as follows:

"Fourteen-hundred years ago, a tormented soul walked the Earth that was neither man nor god. Hercules, powerful son of the god king Zeus, received nothing but suffering his entire life. After twelve arduous labors and the loss of his family, this dark, world-weary soul turned his back on the gods, finding his only solace in bloody battle. Over the years he warmed to the company of six similar souls, their only bond being their love of fighting and the presence of death. These men and woman never question where, why, or whom they go to fight; only how much they will be paid. Knowing this, the King of Thrace has hired these mercenaries to train his men to become the greatest army of all time. Hercules begins to question King Cotys' motives when he takes his army out to battle and sees them practice on innocent men, women, and children of their neighbors. Deep in his soul something stirs, but is it enough to stop a mad king and his army of the damned from marching across Greece - or even Olympus itself?!"

We will keep you updated as details become available.

I think that a World's Finest would be a great lead in to Justice League. Introduce the 2 main characters to each other & at the end they decide it's time to put the team together.

Gily violence been apart of this nation way back since the cold wars. Specially when it come to its movies and even tv shows. Probably before you was born, I agree with Andrew if you don't like the violence then don't have your kids watch it. It is a very simple action to do but people always want to complain. So I say this to all others that have the same issue with violent movies or tv show, get it through your head if you don't like it don't watch it and stop the complaining!
