The lovely and talented Angelina Jolie portraying a superspy is never a bad idea. In 2010, Jolie played a CIA agent on the run after being accused of doubling as a Russian spy, in Columbia Pictures’ "Salt". News of a sequel has been floating around since then and Kurt Wimmer was hired to write the original script. Reports stated that Angelina Jolie wasn’t a big fan of the existing script for the sequel and had yet to sign on in result, so the studio had to take action. Becky Johnston, known for her writing credits on "Seven Years in Tibet" and "The Prince of Tides", has now been brought on to rewrite the script for "Salt 2".
As it stands, we don’t know what story the film will focus on but it’s apparent that Columbia Pictures is set on a sequel and that they need to ensure Angelina Jolie is set on it as well, by dazzling her with an incredible script.
We’ll keep you posted as the story develops.
