It comes as absolutely no surprise that the follow up to the action-packed "Expendables 2" is already in the works. The first film racked up $274.5 Million and the second made $300.4 Million worldwide, making the second sequel a no-brainer for Lionsgate to make. The first two films boasted classic action-film stars including such actors as Chuck Norris, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Terry Crews, Dolph Lundgren and many more, always with Sylvester Stallone as the captain.
The third film is sure to carry the tradition of badass action stars joining the roster and Jackie Chan looks like he's the next addition. At a press conference for CZ12, Chan said, "Sly had invited me to be in 'Expendables 2' but I was too busy filming 'CZ12' and couldn't make a commitment to the film. But he did extend his invitation to the third movie, which I agreed on the condition that I will be appearing as more than just a minor role with a few scenes."
Chan also added that he hoped the third film would be more of a 'buddy-buddy' movie should he be joining, and Stallone apparently agreed to it. No production or release dates have been set yet.
Hoping to reunite with Chris Tucker, Chan also said we could be seeing a "Rush Hour 4" soon. A script with the title "Skip Tracer" is the one they are focusing on but Chan said it very well could be turned into "Rush Hour 4" if they felt that was the best course of action.
"The script is currently viewed by Chris Tucker," he said. "Personally, I feel that if he were to pick it up, it would be better if we turned it into 'Rush Hour 4,' but I do think that three movies for the franchise is a perfect ending. It would be better to start a new buddy movie with someone new."
