When you think of Dave Bautista, you might imagine him back in the ring, taking down his opponent. Or, if you’re a Marvel Cinematic Universe fan, you probably recall the many gags he gets to fit into his character of Drax from GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. Now, he will use both of those talents in a fun, family-friendly role in MY SPY.
JJ (Bautista) is a CIA operative who’s a bit of a loose cannon. As he's being given one last shot at keeping his job, his cover is blown by Sophie (Chloe Coleman), a young girl who uses some pretty tech-savvy knowledge to discover that JJ is keeping tabs on her family.
With JJ needing Sophie to stay quiet, and Sophie wanting to learn how to be as cool of a spy as JJ, the two enter a reluctant partnership that could be mutually beneficial. One thing's for sure, comedy and hijinks will ensue. You can get a feel for those antics yourself by watching the trailer for the film below.
MY SPY is backed by a team that knows a thing or two about fast and funny espionage films. Director Peter Segal brought the classic spy series GET SMART to the big screen, and writers Jon and Erich Hoeber introduced the world to the Bruce Willis-led RED franchise.
Balancing out the equation on the comedic side are talented actors like Kristen Schaal and Ken Jeong, who both play CIA colleagues to Dave Bautista’s JJ. With the entire entertainment spectrum in good hands, this is a mission that’s far from impossible.
Kids and adults alike will enjoy MY SPY’s heartfelt adventure, filled with laughter and smiles.
