Get Tickets to DRAGON BALL SUPER: BROLY
On January 16, Dragon Ball fans around the world will be able to experience DRAGON BALL SUPER: BROLY, the newest anime fantasy in the popular franchise. AMC guests of any showing that day can receive an exclusive card while supplies last.
DRAGON BALL SUPER: BROLY, directed by Tatsuya Nagamine and written by Akira Toriyama, centers on the unbelievably strong Broly, who was first introduced to audiences in DRAGON BALL Z: BROLY — THE LEGENDARY SUPER SAIYAN (1993). In the new film, Broly’s been given a new look and origin story, one that is sure to leave fans more sympathetic to the powerful brute.
We pick up after the devastation of Planet Vegeta and the Saiyan warrior race. Three Saiyans, born around the same time, were scattered among the stars and destined for different fates: Goku, a lower-class warrior, and Vegeta, a Saiyan prince, found home on Earth, while Broly was exiled to a distant planet because of his colossal strength. Fast forward to present day, and Broly, located by the ruthless Frieza, is ready for revenge — and he’s unlike any fighter Goku and Vegeta have faced before.
To battle against the powerful Broly, Goku and Vegeta will source their Super Saiyan powers, as well as merge into Gogeta, a fusion of the characters as seen in DRAGON BALL Z: FUSION REBORN. This detail alone will give fans an idea of how overwhelmingly strong Broly must be.
Of course, we can’t wait to see the explosive action as the warriors collide in DRAGON BALL SUPER: BROLY, but we’re also looking forward to a meatier storyline than past films. Through flashbacks, we are able to understand the history of the Saiyan race and how Goku, Vegeta and Broly became who they are today.
