Kicking tail and breaking records, Wonder Woman flew into theatres this weekend giving fans new and old a fresh take at the classic superheroine. Here are the facts, Wonder Woman started making records last week when it received a 93% certified fresh from Rotten Tomatoes, the highest for a DC Comics film. But she was only getting started. The film went on to make $100M opening weekend, the largest opening for a female-directed feature. We don’t know everything, but we’re pretty sure Patty Jenkins + Gal Gadot = Cinematic AWESOMENESS.  Get ready DC Universe we have a feeling this duo will go on to do great things.  

2. Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie

Kevin Hart and Ed Helms turned out to be a successful comedic duo on and off screen, pulling in $23M for opening weekend of Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie. Families flocked to the theatre for a dose of, shall we say kid-friendly adventure potty humor. Whether your kiddos have read the classic kid book or not, this movie is a great way to kick-off your family-friendly summer film season.

3. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

Captain Jack Sparrow continues to be one of history’s most iconic fictional pirates giving fans adventure, laughs and good ole’ movie entertainment while also bringing in $21M over the weekend. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales ranks 9th on the top Johnny Depp movie list and has made $114M domestically with a worldwide gross of $507M. It’s clear, pirates fans are still showing love for this Caribbean Crew.
