1. Cars 3

Speeding into the #1 position this weekend is Disney Pixar’s Cars 3 starring #95 himself, Lightning McQueen. Though the third installment has the lowest opening weekend for the franchise at $53.7 million, audiences are giving it the green light with an “A” Cinemascore and 79% fresh rating. Owen Wilson describes the film as appealing to kids but with emotion and humor that resonates with adults. Do you think it has the adrenaline for a week two victory lap?

2. Wonder Woman

In her third box office weekend, Wonder Woman is a force to be reckoned with in second place, grossing $41.4 million to total over $570 million worldwide. This is the second largest third weekend ever for Warner Brothers behind The Dark Knight in 2008. Did you know that Wonder Woman is now ahead of The Wolverine, Thor, and Iron Man worldwide? She’s a beast!

3. All Eyez on Me

The surprise of the weekend in third is All Eyez on Me, the Tupac Shakur biopic. Releasing on what would have been Tupac’s 46th birthday, this Lionsgate release brought in $26.5 million, ahead of Sony’s Rough Night and Universal’s The Mummy. Audiences are giving the film an “A” Cinemascore, despite mixed reviews from critics and those close to the real-life subject matter. It’s our experience that a passionate, curious audience will lead to a solid second weekend!
