AMC Safe & Clean Reopening

AMC Safe & Clean

All AMC Theatres have reopened! Some theatres may close periodically if required by muncipality guidelines. Check your favorite theatre's page for updates!

AMC Safe & Clean is a set of cleaning protocols and measures that we have implemented to protect the health and safety of our guests and crew.  We designed AMC Safe & Clean with this top priority in mind.

Our new policies are advised by Dr. Joseph Allen, a noted expert and faculty member at Harvard School of Public Health. New, enhanced cleaning procedures have been developed in partnership with the world leader in all things clean, Clorox®

AMC has implemented the following changes to protect moviegoers:
  • Mask Requirements: In accordance with CDC guidelines, masks are not required for guests who are fully vaccinated. If you are not fully vaccinated, we ask that you continue to wear a mask throughout the theatre unless actively enjoying food or drinks. If needed, masks are available to purchase for $1. AMC continues to follow state and local mandates.
  • Maximized Fresh Air Flow: Fresh, outdoor air is constantly circulated into our theatres via HVAC exhaust fans. Our systems have also been upgraded beyond industry standards with MERV 13 filters to catch the tiniest of airborne particles.
  • Clorox® Safer Today Alliance: AMC is a proud member of the Clorox Safer Today Alliance. Clorox® teamed up with the Cleveland Clinic and the CDC Foundation to build this alliance with global brands like AMC, so we can move the world forward, together.
We have implemented the following changes to protect all at the theatre:
  • Frequent Handwashing: Our managers and crew are required to wash their hands routinely for at least 20 seconds.
  • Required PPE: Fully vaccinated associates are not required to wear masks. Associates not vaccinated will wear a mask throughout their shift.
  • Routine Cleaning & Disinfecting: Throughout the day, common areas and high touch points are routinely cleaned, sanitized and disinfected.

AMC Stubs - Insider, Premiere, A-List

We know our members really enjoy their perks. Activated rewards and birthday rewards that were set to expire during our closure were extended based off the opening date of your home theatre. You will see the date changes reflected in the My AMC account dashboard on our website or mobile app.
We’ve extended all Premiere memberships by 13 months to compensate for the time theatres were closed. Your new AMC Stubs Premeire membership expiration date is reflected in the My AMC account dashboard on our website or mobile app.

If you would like to process a cancellation now, please visit the Manage My Plan section of your MyAMC account. We have waived the 3-month commitment for all A-List members that joined prior to the Coronavirus pandemic declaration.

If attempting via AMC Theatres mobile app, please ensure you have the latest version that includes these new options.

A refund is not necessary because AMC automatically credited your account by the appropriate number of days when your membership was reactivated on July 1, 2021 (or earlier if you reactivated your account through self-service before July 1). This means that your monthly billing date will move back by the number of credited days that were left in your billing cycle prior to theatres closing and your membership being paused. You can see this new date reflected on the My AMC account page.
No, now that your membership has been reactivated, you will return to monthly billing and the ability to enjoy all the perks of A-List status. If you change your mind, you may cancel your membership by navigating to the Manage My Plan section of your MyAMC account.
