AMC Safe & Clean Reopening

AMC Safe & Clean

We are excited to again have almost all AMC Theatres open. Some theatres may close periodically due to various municipality guidelines. Check your favorite theatre page for updates on operation status and hours.

AMC Safe & Clean is a set of cleaning protocols and measures that we have implemented to protect the health and safety of our guests and crew.  We designed AMC Safe & Clean with this top priority in mind.

Our new policies are advised by Dr. Joseph Allen, a noted expert and faculty member at Harvard School of Public Health. New, enhanced cleaning procedures have been developed in partnership with the world leader in all things clean, Clorox®

AMC has implemented the following changes to protect moviegoers:
  • Mask Requirements: Masks are required for all guests and crew throughout the theatre, regardless of vaccination status or local/state guidelines. In the auditorium, masks are still required, but may be removed while enjoying food and drinks. Protect yourself and others by wearing a mask throughout your visit.
  • Maximized Fresh Air Flow: Fresh, outdoor air is constantly circulated into our theatres via HVAC exhaust fans. Our systems have also been upgraded beyond industry standards with MERV-13 filters to catch the tiniest of airborne particles.
  • Clorox® Safer Today Alliance: AMC is a proud member of the Clorox Safer Today Alliance. Clorox® teamed up with the Cleveland Clinic and the CDC Foundation to build this alliance with global brands like AMC, so we can move the world forward, together.
  • Social Distancing Standards: Maintain social distance before, during and after the movie. Signs will be posted throughout the theatre for guidance.
  • Reduced Auditorium Capacities: To ensure proper social distancing, seating capacities are limited for your safety and the safety of others. These limitations will always meet or exceed state and local regulations.
We have implemented the following changes to protect all at the theatre:
  • Frequent Handwashing: Our managers and crew are required to wash their hands routinely for at least 20 seconds.
  • Required PPE: Associates are required to wear masks. Plexiglass shields have also been installed in each theatre at key locations where crew and guests interact.

AMC Stubs - Insider, Premiere, A-List

We know our members really enjoy their perks. Active and birthday rewards that were set to expire during our closure were extended based off the opening date of your home theatre. You will see the date changes reflected in your account online on your membership dashboard.
We’ve extended all Premiere memberships by 13 months to compensate for the time theatres were closed. Your new AMC Stubs Premeire membership expiration can be viewed in your account online on your membership dashboard.
All A-List memberships were automatically paused as theatre closures went into effect. We have created the ability for you to control when your A-List membership is reactivated, anytime between theatres reopening and July 1, 2021. When you feel ready to return to our theatres, simply visit your account on our mobile app or website to reactivate your membership and start making movie reservations immediately. We currently plan to reactivate any memberships that remain in a paused state on July 1, 2021. We greatly value our members and will communicate in advance of any changes to membership status.

If attempting to reactivate via the AMC Theatres mobile app, please ensure you have the latest version that includes these new options.

You have plenty of time to decide. Your membership can remain in a paused state until July 1, 2021. However, if you would like to process a cancellation now, please visit the Manage My Plan section of your MyAMC account. We have waived the 3-month commitment for all A-List members that joined prior to the Coronavirus pandemic declaration.

If attempting via AMC Theatres mobile app, please ensure you have the latest version that includes these new options.

A refund is not necessary -  AMC will automatically credit your account by the appropriate number of days when you reactivate your membership. This means that your monthly billing date will move back by the number of credited days that were left in your billing cycle prior to theatres closing and your membership being paused. You will see this new date reflected in your account once the reactivation process has completed.
