Edward Snowden and Ryan Gosling Films at Toronto Film Festival
The Toronto International Film Festival announced its lineup Tuesday morning and it includes Edward Snowden and Ryan Gosling films.
Denzel Washington’s “The Magnificent Seven,” will open TIFF and will close with Kelly Fremon Craig’s “The Edge of Seventeen.”
TIFF revealed 65 films in the Galas and Special Presentations sections, more than 40 of them world premieres.
Other features include: Damien Chazelle’s musical “La La Land,” with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, Edward Snowden (Oliver Stone’s “Snowden,” with Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the whistleblower), Peter Berg’s Deepwater Horizon,” a true-life drama about the oil spill, starring Mark Wahlberg and Kurt Russell and multiple other notable films.
The festival begins on Sept. 8 and runs through Sept. 18
10th annual German Currents Festival of German Film
The Goethe-Institut Los Angeles and the American Cinematheque will celebrate the 10th annual German Currents Festival of German Film this Fall.
The festival will include film screenings of German cinema and conversations with prolific German directors, composers and actors.
“Each year, the annual four-day movie showcase attracts large crowds of moviegoers, young and old, from different cultural backgrounds, celebrating the diversity and richness of the most outstanding contemporary German, Austrian and Swiss films. German Currents is excited to see the festival move forward into its second decade and to continue to grow; including more films and formats, and to introduce even more Angeleños to German film,“ says Fareed Majari, director of the Goethe-Institut Los Angeles.
The festival will be held Oct. 20 to Oct. 23 at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.
