It's beginning to heat up for director Scott Cooper's ("Crazy Heart") new project "Out of the Furnace" as Christian Bale is in negotiations to possibly star in the new Relativity film. The movie was written by Brad Ingelsby and originally had Bale attached to star, but scheduling conflicts prevented him from committing to it. Now that he's got a bit of time on his hands, the deal seems to be moving forward once more.
There have been several directors who have wanted to take on this project, including Ridley Scott at one point, but now it's all in Cooper's hands. The story centers on a man released after serving four years in prison. His hopes for a peaceful homecoming are thwarted when his younger brother is brutally murdered and he sets out for revenge. Producing the film is Ridley Scott under his Scott Free Productions banner.
Christian Bale can be seen in "The Dark Knight Rises" when it's released in AMC Theatres on July 20th.
