Gerard Butler Could Join 'Motor City'

By AMC March 30, 2012

After a seemingly never-ending search to find the perfect male lead for the action-thriller "Motor City," Warner Bros and Dark Castle may have found the right person in Gerard Butler. The "Machine Gun Preacher" star is in the middle of negotiations to possibly star in the Albert Hughes directed picture.

If "Motor City" sounds familiar, that's only because two actors have already jumped in and out of the lead role. Dominic Cooper and Jake Gyllenhaal both were once attached to be in the movie but had to leap out due to scheduling conflicts. If Gerard Butler does sign on he'll be co-starring alongside Amber Heard and Gary Oldman.

The story, written by Chad St. John, centers on a felon who, after being released from prison, begins tracking down the men who framed him.
