Jake Gyllenhaal To Be 'An Enemy'

By AMC March 28, 2012

A couple of weeks back there were reports that actor Jake Gyllenhaal was going to replace Dominic Cooper in "Motor City," but unfortunately that was squashed when he stepped away due to prior project commitments. Now we finally know what that picture is, and it's the new independent thriller titled "An Enemy."

Directed by Denis Villeneuve ("Incendies"), "An Enemy" is based off the novel written by Jose Saramago. The story centers on a dysfunctional history teacher (Gyllenhaal) who accidentally discovers his exact couple on a rented DVD, seeks him out and ends up turning both of their lives upside down.

Obviously the appeal of this picture is the fact that Gyllenhaal will be playing the history teacher and his younger double. It'll be interesting to see how the actor manages to take on two main roles in this movie. "An Enemy" is scheduled to begin principal photography after Villeneuve is done filming the Hugh Jackman-starring project "Prisoners."
