Lionsgate Grabs Jason Statham Film 'Hummingbird'

By AMC March 9, 2012

All is good with Lionsgate at the moment. Not only is the production company just a couple of weeks from their sure-fire hit "The Hunger Games," but they just scooped up another thriller to add to their slate. The company just acquired the U.S. and U.K. rights to IM Global's new movie "Hummingbird," starring Jason Statham and directed by Steven Knight who's best known for writing "Eastern Promises."

In "Hummingbird," we follow a veteran (Statham) haunted by a tragic past who assumes the identity of an upper class Londoner. When his girlfriend is found dead, he can no longer hide from his past as he hunts down the perpetrators.

Jason Statham will next be seen in "Safe," a crime-thriller directed by Boaz Yakin set to be released in AMC Theatres on April 27th.
