A couple of projects are definitely moving forward for Adam McKay and Will Ferrell's production company Gary Sanchez Productions. They're moving forward with "King Dork" as "Casa de mi Padre" director Matt Piedmont taking on the project.

"King Dork" has been simmering in development since 2006. D.V. DeVincentis wrote the script, adapted off of the novel written by Frank Portman. In addition to Piedmont directing, they project may have it's lead actor. "Project X" actor Thomas Mann is in final negotiations to join the cast which may include Keir Gilchrist and Nick Offerman ("Parks and Recreation").

The story is set in 1987 during the lead character's sophomore year in high school, where he not only copes with bullies and the pressure from authority figures, but also aims to make sense of his father's unexpected death and track down the mystery girl he fooled around with at a fateful party.

You can still see Thomas Mann wreak all sorts of party havoc in "Project X," out in AMC Theatres now.
