The remake of the popular 1980’s TV show “21 Jump Street” opens in theatres this weekend and critics are already raving that this is one of the best comedies of the year.

Make sure to purchase your tickets for this genuinely side-splitting comedy HERE.

AMC managing editor John Campea had the opportunity to talk with the directors and screenwriter at the South by Southwest film festival about their approach to what was, in many ways, a challenging remake, what makes the chemistry between Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum work so well and “taking the emergency break off” in their film.

Take a look at the video and synopsis for the film below:

Synopsis:

The television series that shot Johnny Depp to stardom makes the leap to the big screen in this reboot starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. Schmidt (Hill) and Jenko (Tatum) have the kind of faces that could let them pass for teenagers. Eager to prove themselves as effective policemen, the pair join the Jump Street program and go undercover to investigate a high-school drug ring. Now, the only thing more daunting than the prospect of taking on violent adolescent dope slingers is the possibility of experiencing the torture of their teenage years all over again.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller direct a cast that includes Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Brie Larson, Rob Riggle, Dave Franco, and Ice Cube.

“21 Jump Street” opens in AMC theatres this Friday, March 16th.
