First he's off, now he's back on – it was reported last week that “The Hunger Games” director Gary Ross wouldn't be returning to helm the sequel “Catching Fire.” Looks like everyone spoke too soon.
Looks like Ross is back to the negotiating table for Round 2 of directing talks for the sequel. The problem is going to be the tight pre-production window of four months before they can start shooting.
Jennifer Lawrence is contractually obligated to the “X-Men: First Class” sequel shooting in January. That contract supersedes her Hunger Games one, so Catching Fire will have to shoot in August. Ross still hasn't signed on yet because of that tight schedule. Money is probably another issue, but I'm sure we'll find out more by this week.
