Sharlto Copley Offered To Play The Villain In 'Oldboy'

By AMC Theatres April 12, 2012

“Oldboy” is a Korean movie that has lingered in remakeland for quite a long time in Hollywood. Now the project is finally moving forward with Spike Lee taking the director's chair for the story of a man looking to get revenge on the person who imprisoned him in an apartment for fifteen years.

Josh Brolin is set to play the lead, and it looks as if “District 9” star Sharlto Copley has been offered the role of the antagonist. A role Colin Firth and Clive Owen passed on. Elizabeth Olsen is rumored to play the female lead.

If you have a chance to watch the Korean film, I recommend doing so. It's violent, but it's a great flick.
