Tom Hanks To Play Walt Disney In 'Saving Mr. Banks'

The movie “Saving Mr. Banks” already sounds like a sure fire Oscar-contender and a new player added to the mix sounds like it really will be.

Tom Hanks is in talks to play Walt Disney in the movie about Disney's 14-year courtship of P.L. Travers, the woman who wrote Mary Poppins, to sell him the rights to turn it into a movie. Emma Thompson is in talks to star as the Australian author who fought with Disney all the way through production, guarded about the property that was very close to her heart.

Unfortunately, she hated the animation sequences in the film and refused to sell any more rights over to Disney. A shame because the movie that starred Julie Andrews, Dick Van Dyke and David Tomlinson (Mr. Banks) is now an instant Disney classic. I have a feeling this biopic about the events leading up to the movie's release will be as well.

Really like the look of it! The trailer has a menacing and dark tone to it, as LEE pointed out. Hopefully this won't be another Die Hard 5 case, awesome trailer but terrible film. Godzilla looks so much like it's 60 year old predecessor. I did like the 1999 Godzilla, just because the actors were awesome and it was cool to see another take on a legendary creature, but this film looks so much darker, almost forbidden. Can't wait till the middle of May!!
