I've always believed that one of the keys to making an action/thriller work is the presence of a strong antagonist (bad guy). What would Star Wars be without Darth Vader? What would Die Hard be without Hans Gruber? What would Harry Potter be without Lord Voldemort? What would Star Trek 2 have been without KKHHAANNNNNN!!!!!!!?
With all that in mind, one of the (many) reasons I loved the James Bond film "Casino Royale" was the fantastic performance by actor Mads Mikkelsen as the villain Le Chiffre. It's no wonder that he's now in talks to appear in the upcoming "Thor 2" as a new nemesis for the god of Thunder.
Mikkelsen would appear along side of the already confirmed cast of Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Jaimie Alexander and Idris Elba all reprising their roles from the previous film(s).
Other notable films Middelsen has appeared in include "Clash of the Titans", "Valhalla Rising" and "The Three Musketeers" (2011).
