The filming for the new "Iron Man 3" is already well underway for its targeted May 3rd, 2013 AMC Theatres release date. With the shooting a lot of rumors, speculation, and yes… pictures have started to surface on the web. One such picture shows us the Iron Patriot armor (see below).

So what is the Iron Patriot Armor? Our friends over at SuperHeroHype lay it out like this:

The armor made its first appearance in 2009's "Dark Avengers" #1. Following the events of the "Secret Invasion" crossover, Norman Osborn was mistakenly heralded as an American hero and tasked with leading a group of government sanctioned-Avengers. Taking the technology from Stark Industries, Osborn designed his suit to represent the then-recently-deceased Captain America. Because the character of Osborn is a Spider-Man villain and the rights rest at Sony Pictures, it's pretty much a certainty that a different character will be donning the suit in the upcoming film.

POSSIBLE SPOILER AHEAD, READ WITH CAUTION

The report right now is that a character named Eric Savin (played by actor James Badge Dale), who in the comic world goes on to become the cyborg villain Coldblood. Who is Coldblood you ask? MTV's Splashpage describes the caracter as:

Back in 1989, Coldblood was introduced as Coldblood-7, a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army transformed into a cyborg following an accident with a land mine. After taking his revenge on the military overlords who led him to his human death, Coldblood-7 worked as a mercenary for hire, interacting with characters like Havok, Silver Sable and Deathlok. His moral compass came and went, as is the case with hired guns, but in general, he was presented as a tough cookie willing to do the tough jobs.

What remains completely unclear is why Savin is wearing the Stark Iron Patriot Armor or how he fits into the story at all. We'll just have to wait and see.

What do you think of the picture? Do you like the Iron Patriot Armor? Do you like the inclusion of Coldblood in the story (if Coldblood appears at all). Let us know your thoughts and predictions. and don't forget to LIKE this post and tweet it out using the buttons below!

I see one that's great enough to stand on his own in a flick and I see two generic Super Heroes below him played by descent actors that will suck of no fault of their own. DC Entertainment and Zack piss off Snyder have destroyed any chance of a good Superman flick. It's generic and badly delivered to screen. What a tragedy to finally get to see the big 3 on screen after all these years only to watch them in piss poor dark generic looking outfits and rewritten backgrounds. FAILURE! DC Entertainment needs to pull their heads out of their asses and give us something good besides Dark Knight and Batman. To my point GO MARVEL!!!!!! May we all be laughing at DC Comics in the end for playing this awful prank on the true fans.

Marvel has nothing to worry about. DC Entertainment has already killed Superman in this so called "Man of Steel" series of movies. Does anyone recall how the first one sucked? That movie in no way other then title had the tone of Superman. DC has shot themselves in the foot far before the release date against Marvel that knows how to build on charactors, respect them, and the fans. Before all this bull crap with revamping I was 100% behind DC Comics. They have proved one bad film over another that Batman is the only one in the JLA they can get right. This knockoff Superman is and was terrible! Wonder Woman will be just as bad or worse being that DC Comics likes to screw around with her origin and costume the most out of any DC charactor since creation. They simply just don't know what the heck they are doing or how to stay true to the roots of these heroes who have endured for 70 plus years. MOS2 may make it at the box office but mark my words it will not in any way be because it's a great flick. Just the hopefuls having to justify to themselves right and wrongs of the contents. It will suck! Line up for Captain America 3 and catch this flick in the red box.

I've got a Baby Ruth in my coat pocket somewhere... just waiting to eat it. Maybe I'll put in a blender on puree.
