Generally speaking, if anyone lists who they think the top 10 greatest actors still alive today are, and they fail to mention Sir Anthony Hopkins in that list, I just instantly tune them out from then on. For decades this Oscar winner has portrayed character from the powerful to the meek with a range of nuclear intensity to quietest humility. There has never really been an actor quite like "Tony" (as he once told me to call him… butI just can never seem to in his presence) and there probably never will be.
Word came out yesterday that the upcoming "Red 2" is looking to add Sir Anthony to the cast as the main villain. The film is already confirmed to have an iconic and legendary cast which includes Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker and series newcomers Catherine Zeta-Jones and Byung-hun Lee.
The one snag reportedly getting in the way of Hopkins joining the cast is a possible shooting conflict with "Thor 2" where he is set to reprise his role as the all-father Odin. They're going to have to see if they can work the scheduling out. I hope they can.
