This past weekend here at the AMC Burbank 16 was filled with Marvel madness. The AMC production crew covered the midnight screening and it was packed. I went to see the movie again yesterday and the place was packed, and these numbers show how crazy fans got for their favorite superheroes.

Disney reported that Sunday's gross was close to $56.8 million putting its three-day total to about $207.1 million, shattering the previous box-office holder, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.” So far the film has earned $654 million worldwide.

Could “The Avengers” pass “Avatar” in total box office gross and become #1? We've got a friendly bet going on here at the office that it could. What do you think?

  • Matthew Kirk posted on First GODZILLA Trailer Released Starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Bryan Cranston

Really like the look of it! The trailer has a menacing and dark tone to it, as LEE pointed out. Hopefully this won't be another Die Hard 5 case, awesome trailer but terrible film. Godzilla looks so much like it's 60 year old predecessor. I did like the 1999 Godzilla, just because the actors were awesome and it was cool to see another take on a legendary creature, but this film looks so much darker, almost forbidden. Can't wait till the middle of May!!
