In 2001 we learned the secret behind the monster under the bed when “Monsters Inc.” was released in theatres. The animated comedy presented a world in which monsters generate their city's power by scaring children, until one intrepid little girl, Boo, sneaks into Monstropolis and turns top scarer Sulley and his trusty friend Mike’s lives upside down.
Now we revisit the world in “Monsters University” a prequel that reveals how Mike and Sulley became partners in scaring crime.
In a fresh marketing approach Disney-Pixar has released four slightly different teaser trailers to introduce the world to the film.
"Billy Crystal's an amazing comedic actor," Dan Scanlon, the film's director, said of the marketing approach. "He gave us so much fun material, we decided to cut four slightly different versions of the trailer. We are so happy to have him back as Mike!"
Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn't always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn't stand each other. "Monsters University" unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.
Screaming with laughter and fun, "Monsters University" is directed by Dan Scanlon ("Cars," "Mater and the Ghostlight," "Tracy") and produced by Kori Rae ("Up," "The Incredibles," "Monsters, Inc.").
Look for “Monsters University” in AMC 2D and 3D Theatres on June 21, 2013.
