This weekend director Timur Bekmambetov's historical-action-fantasy "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" opens in AMC Theatres.
While doing the press rounds for the film Berkmanbetov was able to tease the sequel to 2008's unique action adventure "Wanted."
"An unbelievable thing happened three weeks ago," the director told JoBlo.com. "Because we stopped, we didn't know what to do for three or four years. Three weeks ago I came up with a great idea and I pitched this idea and everybody fell in love with it. And now I think we're on track. Right now the writer is working on the script, and it will be shocking."
"It's a continuation of the story, with Wesley Gibson (James McAvoy)," he continued. "Other people are dead, you know, we can't bring them back. The story is the same character, same mythology, but it's got a great twist."
In not so many words Bekmambetov seems to be indicating that Angelina Jolie's Fox will not be resurrected from the dead. Alas.
Take a look at what AMC managing editor John Campea and myself have to say about the possibility of a "Wanted 2" in the video below:
