It's somewhat rare for a female superhero to be given her own film, but this year two women illustrated that, given a proper script, the ladies can be just as engaging as the gents.
Scarlett Johansson, with the support of Joss Whedon's screeplay and direction, brought Black Widow to vivid life in this summer's smash (yep) hit "The Avengers" and now Anne Hathaway's Selina Kyle (a.k.a. Catwoman) is emerging as a fan favorite from director Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises".
In a recent interview with Digital Spy the actress indicated that she'd love to explore the character further given the correct set of circumstances, saying:
"I think it would be lovely to see more of her but only if it's with the right people. She lives in this Gotham City and so it would have to be established by the people who have made this Gotham City. For me, at least."
Nolan has said that he believes she deserves her own film, but that is not to say that he would be willing to take the helm.
What do you think? Would you like to see a new "Catwoman" movie starring Anne Hathaway?
