The remake of director Paul Verhoeven's 1987 science-fiction action film "Robocop" goes into production in two months but the marketing campaign is up and running online.
Viewers can go to the fictional Omnicorp website to see a faux sales video that highlights the companies emphasis on high-tech law enforcement devices (which film fans know includes Robocop, code-named RC-2000).
Take a look at the video below which will introduce audiences to a world "where human resources meets robotic engineering."
The original "RoboCop," which premiered in 1987, was "part man, part machine and all cop." The film's storyline focused on the future of law enforcement as a terminally wounded cop returns to the police force as a powerful cyborg haunted by submerged memories.
Oldman will play Norton, the scientist who invents the cyborg technology that brings Officer Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) back to life.
Jose Padilha directs a cast that includes Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson and Hugh Laurie.
"RoboCop" will be in AMC Theatres on August 8th 2013.
