Fans of the online, immersive (sometimes addictive) fantasy role playing game World of Warcraft will be sad to hear that director Sam Raimi ("Spider-Man," the upcoming "Oz the Great and Powerful").
Craveonline asked for an update on the project at Comic-Con this past weekend to which the prolific director replied:
"Actually, they don’t have me directing World of Warcraft anymore because when I took the Oz job, they had to move on to another director. They had to start making it.”
Blizzard Entertainment did say that the film is "stil in the treatment stage" but there is no further word on who will replace Raimi to helm the film.
It will be interesting to see who is selected to bring the sprawling visual epic to life.
We will keep you updated as details emerge.
