After rumors surfaced that Ben Affleck was being courted by Warner Bros. to helm their superhero ensemble, “Justice League”, the actor/director came forward to deny his involvement.
In a recent interview with 24 Hours Affleck said:
“I'm not working on the ‘Justice League;. One of the problems with entertainment web sites is that they need to fill pages, and that's how rumors get started. ‘Justice League’ sounds really exciting, but it's not something I'm working on."
Coming Soon now reports that Andy and Lana Wachowski (“The Matrix” trilogy, the upcoming “Cloud Atlas”) may be in contention to direct the film.
The studio is reportedly pleased with “Cloud Atlas”, which has a sweeping scope and a plethora of characters across several time periods all in complex relationship to one another, so it is not entirely surprising that the Wachowskis would be considered to take on “Justice League” – an ambitious endeavor in its own right.
The script from Will Beall is said to include Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and The Flash.
We will keep you updated as details emerge.
