Rosamund Pike Joins THE WORLD'S END

By AMC August 13, 2012

Director Edgar Wright has tapped Rosamund Pike ("Pride & Prejudice," the upcoming "Jack Reacher") to join the cast of his apocalyptic comedy "The World's End".

The comedy team that brought audiences "Shaun of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz", Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, will reunite for the film with Wright set to direct from a script he and Pegg penned. Frost will co-star.

There is no official word on the role Pike will play, but if we were to wager a guess, we'd say she will portray one of the five childhood friends that reunite just in time for the end of the world.

Take a look at the synopsis below.

20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World's End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind's. Reaching The World's End is the least of their worries.
