Coming Soon is reporting that they may have discovered the title for director J.J. Abrams upcoming sequel to 2009's wildly popular "Star Trek" reboot.

The site theorizes that the film will be released as "Star Trek Into Darkness" when it hits AMC 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D Theatres on May 17, 2013.

An unnamed source supplied the juicy tidbit and they point to the fact that the domain names www.startrekintodarkness.com and www.startrekintodarknessmovie were both purchased recently by "MarkMonitor, an anonymous domain registry service that just so happens to have been utilized by Paramount Pictures for recent URLs like their official G.I. Joe: Retaliation site."

We will keep you updated as details emerge.

Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve and Peter Weller are all on board for the second installment in the franchise. J.J. Abrams directs from a script by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Damon Lindelof.
