Universal is planning a sequel to “Safe House” their action-thriller hit from this past February. The film has made over $200 million in worldwide box office sales, so the sequel comes as little surprise.
“Safe House” writer David Guggenheim is set to pen the script but there is no confirmation that either Ryan Reynolds or Denzel Washington (the stars of the original) would return.
As those who have seen the first film can attest, it would be a challenge to incorporate both characters into a follow-up story, so there is some speculation that the studio is aiming for a prequel, rather than a sequel, to the actioneer.
