Beyonce Exits A STAR IS BORN

By AMC October 10, 2012

It is being reported that Beyonce has exited the Clint Eastwood-helmed remake of “A Star is Born” in development at Warner Bros.

Eastwood said that the project was “six months down the line” at a press conference for “Trouble with the Curve” recently, which isn’t actually that far away in relative terms. The studio is actively looking for a replacement for the singer/actress and is said to be considering Esperanza Spaulding among others for the role.

The casting of the two leads in "A Star in Born" is crucial. We must believe that she is an artist just cusping on her prime while he is one whose light has faded. The talent must be palatable, but so must the humanity. We need to root for this couple. The chemistry between the two is essential or we will never give over to either the romantic or tragic elements of the tale.

Janet Gaynor/Fredric March, Judy Garland /James Mason and Barbra Streisand/Kris Kristofferson have all taken on the roles in the past.

We will keep you updated as details emerge.
