As the title indicates, the central antagonist in the upcoming "Captain America" sequel is set to be Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes, the brainwashed cyborg assassin known as "The Winter Soldier".

But rumors are circling that the film may include another villain. Recent tweets from radio show host Matthew Aaron and Frank Grillo ("The Grey") indicate that Grillo recently auditioned for the role of Crossbones in the film.

The character was first introduced in the 1980's and is said to be "a highly trained mercenary working for Red Skull. Crossbones also played a major role in the assassination of Steve Rogers following Marvel's Civil War."

Of course there is no official confirmation from Marvel about the nature of Grillo's meeting with them and the actor's tweets have since been deleted so the character's inclusion in the highly anticipated sequel is pure speculation at this time. But we will keep you updated as details emerge.

In the interim, to get an idea of the look of the character, take a look at the Crossbones toy along with Cap himself below.

"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" will open in AMC Theatres on April 4, 2014.

Admire bryan singer story telling, not easy if you introducing a large cast.. As someone who do not know anything about x-men lore or identify himself as superhero geek.. His x-men 2000 film grab my interest on the series.. Still remember that powerful opening scene, the nazi concentration camp.. really set the theme of the series.. Found some of the other superhero movies.. Too comical for my taste still,.. Will see this movie on the first day of opening..

    1) Daredevil was ten years ago, and its problems were the director and script writers' fault. 2) Maybe but look at James Bond and hell even Batman throughout the years, people will get over it. 3) I want to tell you to check out the Town and Hollywoodland to see him act well, but you'd seem too hell bent to ever change your mind.
