The director of the final four "Harry Potter" films, David Yates, is currently on the hunt for the star of his next cinematic endeavor.

Yates is finalizing the script for a new live-action adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ "Tarzan" that he is developing for Warner Bros., and has already begun the initial casting process.

Yates has reportedly taken meetings with the following actors:

Tom Hardy, who of course played Bane in Chris Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises", Henry Cavill, who is Superman in the upcoming "Man of Steel", Alexander Skarsgard, who is best known for his role on television's "True Blood" and Charlie Hunnam who is currently the lead on the TV show "Sons of Anarchy" and stars in Guillermo Del Toro's upcoming sci-fi adventure "Pacific Rim".

Who would you like to see take on the iconic role?

We will keep you updated as details on the project emerge.

Really like the look of it! The trailer has a menacing and dark tone to it, as LEE pointed out. Hopefully this won't be another Die Hard 5 case, awesome trailer but terrible film. Godzilla looks so much like it's 60 year old predecessor. I did like the 1999 Godzilla, just because the actors were awesome and it was cool to see another take on a legendary creature, but this film looks so much darker, almost forbidden. Can't wait till the middle of May!!
