By AMC November 26, 2012

Ryan Gosling is making his directorial debut with the upcoming “How to Catch a Monster”, with production beginning in May. Christina Hendricks is starring in the film and news just hit that Ben Mendelsohn is also joining the cast. Mendelsohn has recently been seen in Christopher Nolan's “The Dark Knight Rises” and the upcoming “Killing Them Softly”, which releases in AMC Theatres on November 30th. Gosling and Mendelsohn first worked together on the upcoming Derek Cianfrance film “The Place Beyond the Pines”, which made its debut at Sundance this year.

“How to Catch a Monster” is described as a dark fairytale, that follows a mother (Hendricks) and her two sons, one of whom discovers a secret underwater town and can't fight the temptation to explore it.

We’ll keep you posted as the story develops.
